# Rudá Avantgarda - speech 8. 1. Hello comrades. I'm happy how many of us have gathered here today. This is a clear sign that Venezuela isn't alone, and internationally, lots of protests have been many times larger. The streets of Caracas are currently full and expressing their resistance to the aggression. We're standing here today, and although we're at Náměstí Svobody, we're side by side with every Venezuelan worker. This isn't the first time that we're witnessing an aggression by US imperialism on the soil of Venezuela. Similar events occurred in 2002 when the Bush administration was getting ready to take over Venezuela's oil industry. The policies of Hugo Chávez threatened the interests of huge oil companies and they raised concerns in Washington. On the day of the coup, 11 April 2002, Washington and other elites rejoiced, there was violence, government politicians were arrested, crowds protesting the coup were shot at, and several decrees of the Bolivar revolution that improved workers' and peasants' lives were canceled. However, Washington and oil giant owners hadn't considered one factor, which was the mobilization of the masses in the streets, shutting down the coup in after 47 hours and ensuring the release of Chavez back to Venezuela. This coup, organized by military leadership, broke up the moment that Pedro Carmona announced the dissolution of the National Assembly. This caused the collapse of the provisional government and increasing support for Chávez. What have been the reactions of Western state leaders to the current event, though? For example, Benjamin Netanyahu supported Trump and his operation as "brave and historic leadership in the name of freedom and justice". A man who's been committing intentional genocide on Palestinians, who blocks the import of food and humanitarian supplies to Gaza drowning in rubble, and the man who ensured there would be several thousands of innocent dead dares to speak about freedom and justice? Keir Starmer, another warmonger, comments that he "sheds no tears over the end of Maduro's regime because Great Britain didn't consider him the legitimate president". I wonder, how come that he considers Zelensky a legitimate president then, even though his presidential term officially ended on 24 May 2024, he censors the opposition, persecutes left-wing subjects and encourages corruption in Ukraine? In Great Britain, Starmer and Trump both receive lower popularity than Maduro himself. Is there anyone crying out that Trump and Starmer falsify elections, or that they're illegitimate representatives? There's no one. The US foreign minister, until recently called little Marco by Trump, reassures the world that this isn't a war against Venezuelans but rather against narco-organizations and threats against the USA. Why has the whole operation claimed around 80 victims including innocent local residents? The number of innocents keeps growing if we include the dead fishermen killed by missiles and labeled by the US as ships carrying drugs. If this isn't enough, Donald Trump is threatening vice-president Delcy Rodriguez that she might end up worse than Maduro if she doesn't go by the US demands. This can't get any worse, or can it? Trump is telling the world that Colombia, Cuba, Mexico or Greenland can be next, and he personally confirms to Gustavo Petro, the democratically elected president of Colombia, that he'll be the next target. Cuba, which has been resisting the US blockade successfully for over 66 years, might be hit a certain crisis. It's very dependent on oil imports, which could be used by the Trump administration to completely cut off the imports to Cuba. This could contribute to ruining Cuba even more, just as teh US has been trying for several decades. We won't be surprised to hear the position of our foreign minister Petr Macinka who says: "We'¶e carefully monitoring the situation in Venezuela. Through president Trump, USA repeatedly warned against a possible escalation of the tension considering the steps of the illegitimate regime leader Maduro." What else could we expect from the Motorists who are delighted by Trump's politics. Prime minister Babiš comments the situation, saying that it "was to be expected" and he "hopes for good outlooks and a democratic development". Hope? Democratic development? Meaning that hope and democratic development means some kind of a protectorate under the dictatorship of Washington? I ask then, where are now all the speeches of gentlemen like Babiš, Rakušan, Fiala and others about the constantly repeating Munich Agreement? This is a sufficient proof of American imperialism in action. Intervene aggressively in an independent country, bomb civilian areas, change the regime to accomplish the well known "spreading of democracy" as was the case e.g. in Iraq or Libya, get the oil refineries under control, and control the whole country that has the largest oil reserves in the world, numbering 303 billion barrels. We all can imagine what's going on in the head of this great friend of the pedophile Epstein, having these reserves under his power. The oil sector under the Petróleos de Venezuela S. A. company, nationalized by the Chávez government, would be privatized for good, and doors would be open to various parasites who'd only profit from selling it out abroad. Eventually, this would mean an economic disaster for Venezuela, the emergence of an oligarchy and dependency under imperialist powers. In other words, Venezuela would go back to the times before the Bolivarian Revolution – poverty, corruption and profit. At the same time, it's clear that Venezuela can't move forward under the capitalist machinery. That's why there was the opportunity in Venezuela for the Bolivarian Revolution, which was able to push Venezuela forward. This is what Hugo Chavez meant when he talked about the character of Simon Bolivar, who raised the banner of the uprising against the Spanish imperialism with the intention of a war for national liberation that would unify all the nations of Latin America. The present situation in Latin America confirms these words. Trump further claims that Maduro is the leader of a narco-organization which needs to be fought against, despite having no proof that Maduro is in any direct connection to the local cartels. On the other hand, on 1 December 2025, Trump pardoned the former president of Honduras, Juan Hernandez, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison based on credible evidence for helping to import cocaine into the US. Even the US Department of Justice invalidated the accusation that Maduro was the boss of the Cartel de Los Soles drug organization, with experts claiming that no such cartel exists at all. And when Trump loses interest in drugs, he starts talking about democracy all of a sudden. That Maduro isn't really the legitimate president, that the elections were forged, and that this gives him the right to attack. Is Trump really interested if there are fair elections? Of course he isn't. If he is, then how come he welcomed Muhammad bin Salman in the White House, who hadn't been elected, and no elections take place in Saudi Arabia? I ask then, is this really the person who wants a Nobel Peace Prize? A person who openly talks about regime overthrow, threatens other states with his armed intervention and has recently bombed Nigeria. The root of imperialism lies in capitalism. In the system that will continue to produce conflicts, wars, economic collapses, epidemics, poverty, environmental disasters and more. Just recall the year 2025, which was very revolutionary. We witnessed several wars, genocides, conflicts, and in reaction, Gen Z revolutions and protests gaining strength and shaking the world. 2026 has just begun and it's speeding fast. This year will be even more revolutionary than the past one. That's why we need to be ready to be able to properly understand and analyze the events that await us this years. Who wants to rule the world, must understand it. The youth realize that this system no longer works, that it's spinning in disastrous circles, and they're the ones impacted by all the horrors. That's why we need an alternative to this system, and with it also the correct revolutionary ideas based not on idealism but on real scientific analysis of present society. We can't accomplish this without a real vanguard of workers and the youth, a clear banner capable of leading towards the overthrow of this rotten system. Who else if not us? When else if not now? All of us standing here today are frustrated, angry from what's happening in Venezuela, Palestine, the war in Ukraine, the genocide in Sudan, and I could go on mentioning tens of other conflicts. My speech isn't about Maduro but about condemning the imperialist attacks by the United States of America. Protest is a great tool to inform the public about events, to display resistance against these filthy tricks, but results are also important. We won't change anything if we only shout slogans and inform about the situation. We have to realize one thing though, which is that we have real power, the power to build and organize, that is to build greater power based on concrete ideas confirmed by the present as well as history itself. We have to take the responsibility and power in our hands, we can't do without that. That's why it's never been more important to actually organize and fight for a future that won't be based on profit but rather on meeting the needs of the society at large. I want to remind those who don't organize of this clear quote by Rosa Luxemburg: "Those who do not move, do not notice their chains."
